10 Dove Street
My friends, Aisa and Makz always have this birthday plans of going to a restaurant they haven’t dined before. Just like last February on Makz’ birthday, she chose to celebrate it at Lantaw Native Restaurant in Busay. It is a Filipino restaurant that serves the best Filipino dishes, and that includes my favorite sea foods. For Aisa’s birthday, she chose 10 Dove Street. I must admit that this is not the first time that I visited this place. In fact, this is already my third time. I will never get tired coming to this place. The foods are great and I can say very affordable. With your 200 pesos, you can have any choices of soup, salad, sandwich and cake.
10 Dove Street is situated at Sto. Nino Village in Talamban. If this is your first time to visit the place and you are not accompanied by someone who has already been to this area, you will get absolutely lost. On my first 2 visit, I swear I was rounding up every corner just to get to the right street. Luckily for the third time, I have gotten familiar with cross streets and landmarks.
This is how it looks like outside. This is a very private place; I mean if you are just a passerby, you will not know that there is a restaurant in this corner. This place is not popularly advertised. It has been here for years already, yet I only knew about this last year. And as what I knew, when this place started, it only catered people that the owner knows. An expansion was suggested, that is why they now have 6 tables inside.
This is with my equally pretty friends Aisa and Makz. It is both their first time coming to 10 Dove Street. I am good at advertising that I have successfully lured them to come and visit the place. I can say that just like me when I first came to this place, they absolutely fell in love with it also.
We are waiting for our order to be served here. I always love to visit on weekdays, because it is not very crowded. I remembered my first visit, it was Saturday, lunch time, all tables are full and people are on waiting list. In some restaurants, if diners know that the waiting list is long, they will just leave and find another place. I was amazed because people here are just patiently waiting for their table. I was thinking that, this might be a very good place.
This is how it looks like inside.
Tables are properly arranged and cleanliness is very evident. Interior design is lovely. It is indeed very cozy.
I am doing some fashion poses here for my fashion blogs. This is food and fashion blogging in one. I love multi-tasking.
And finally, here comes our dish.
This is what I ordered. This is a cream of corn soup. I am not really a fan of soups until I tried this one. The creaminess of the soup plays a luscious taste in your mouth and gives a more positive flavor and a far better texture, without the floury quality which is often so objectionable in some soup.
This is their Asian Green Salad. I swear this is one of the best Salads I have tried. It has ham, tomatoes, orange, raw noodle (believe me I was surprised the first time I saw a raw noodle in a salad, but guess what? Its crispness added twist to the salad), and Lychee with pineapple inside (Lychee with Pineapple inside? Doesn’t sound right? Well it does, and this is just a perfect combination. The flavor of the Lychee compliments with the pineapple). When I told my friend Aisa about this, she sliced the lychee in half, just to prove that there is indeed a pineapple inside. And this is the best part, the vinaigrette is absolutely flavorful I hope I can ask the recipe for this so that I can try this at home. I don’t use vinaigrette in a Salad, since my favorite dressing is thousand islands, but this is absolutely good, you can pour it all off into your Salad without even thinking that it is oily. No worries for health conscious people since they are using olive oil.
This is really cute! This is our Roast Beef Dylan sandwich. It is a marinated beef, and the flavor penetrates the beef. Take note, we specifically ordered for wheat bread for health conscious people like us.
Finally our cakes! I ordered for a Mango Ube cake, Aisa ordered her favorite Chocolate decadence and Makz ordered for a yogurt cake. Believe me, they have the best cakes. The cakes that you ordered in Figaro? Well, it is from them. They supply Figaro coffee as well as other cafes. Their cakes are highly recommended.
We are just starting with our final dish but our faces appear to be very full. And, when the cakes were served, it looks to delicious and enticing, we can’t help ourselves but to dig in.
