Glitterati 5: Style Flux
Another exciting event that I attended was the most anticipated Glitterati 5 fashion show last September 30, 2015 at SM City Cebu Northwing. As the most glamorous fashion show in the metro, Glitterati, now on its 5th year celebrated the event by showcasing the designs of Celine Borromeo, Joyce Maw and Mia Arcenas in black and white color palette. What a good way to empower womens creativeness! Their design was worn by Cebu’s young personalities and runway fresh faces.
Glitterati is a yearly fashion show that does not only feature local fashion designers but also top brands such as Espada, Esprit, Forever 21, Loalde, Mango, Promod, Terranova, and Uniqlo. Their trendy apparels was worn by Cebu’s top runway models. Without further a do, let the show begin!
Let’s start with Forever 21.

The first featured designer that wowed the crowd is Celine Borromeo. A Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate with a major in Fashion Design from the University of San Carlos in 2014, Celine Borromeo has proven she’s got a knack for fashion. Upon graduation, she received special recognition for Best in Sewing and Construction and Best in Fashion Illustration, as well as a gold award for Best in Thesis. She’s come a long way from her life as a fashion student as she is currently one of the top three finalists in this season’s Project Runway Philippines.

Our second featured designer is Joyce Maw. Also a contestant from Project Runway Philippines Season 4, Joyce Maw’s quirky style allowed her to reach the top six in the competition. She is a magna cum laude graduate of Fashion Design from the University of San Carlos in 2013, where she also placed third in Best Thesis. Joyce was also awarded Best Fun Wear Designer in this year’s Miss Cebu pageant.

And last but not the least, my favorite Cebuana designer, Mia Arcenas. She gained a degree in Apparel Manufacturing Management from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, California, where she graduated summa cum laude. Upon moving back to Cebu in 2010, she was appointed as vice president and creative director of their family business, Ferimar Inc., a pioneer exporter of handbags and fashion accessories for top brands all over Europe, the U.S., Australia and Japan. In 2013, Mia established her own namesake brand and created a resort wear line of clothing and fashion accessories fit for the modern-day, fashionable woman.

With my dear friend and my photographer on that day, Cheny Santizas. All those beautiful runways shots was taken by her.
With the lovely Mia Arcenas. You are my favorite and will always be my favorite designer.
With AR Duenas. She was part of the runway and is one of the top models here in Cebu. I guess I will not be standing next to a model next time because it only makes me look so fat. But thanks for being too kind to me, AR!
And of course with two of my favorite people in the world, Kaye Luym-Sala and Cybill Gayatin of A-list. Thank you for having me!
