La Vie Parisienne Food Tasting and Garden Party
When I received the invitation for the launching of the first French Boulangerie in Cebu, I got really excited. I love French food as much as I love their language, and I am just overwhelmed that I will be attending the garden party. It will be held outside the La Maison Rose restaurant, the same building where Alliance Francaise de Cebu is located. This place is not new to me. I have been here almost every day for the whole month of January and first 2 weeks of February for my Intensive 1 French class. I have seen how cozy the place is, and it has a very relaxing ambiance (a description very suitable for a garden party).
The food tasting idea thrilled me. Imagine, being in a place where French bread, deli’s and wines are served for free. That’s mouth watering indeed!
When we arrived at the venue, it was already crowded with guests that are enjoying the party. Lucky us, the first people we came across with are our French teachers, Alice and Sophie.
Alice (on the left) was my proctor when I was reviewing for the Delf A1 exam. She has been very nice to us, even if we only had a chance to be with her for a short time. Sophie, on the other hand is my teacher for the Intensive 1 class. The longer that I have been with her, the more that I knew how nice and lovely she is as a person.
From the left is Richill, the very sweet secretary of Alliance Franciase de Cebu. And in the middle is Gael, she is also my French teacher on Intensive 1; she is very sweet and funny. I would love to be her student on Intensive 2 again (fingers crossed).
These are the different stations that they had during the food tasting. Since we arrived late, most of the foods are already consumed. It is so good; guests can’t get enough of it. My very favorite is the French Croissant, c’est deliceux! You’ll never know that you have already consumed a lot and forgot that there are still other breads to try.
This is my favorite station. You can ask for all flavors of Shanpelino and you can compare which flavor suits your taste. Shanpelino is one of the best wines I’ve ever tasted; the flavor explodes on your mouth. It is a very fine wine; you can differentiate it from all other wines. And take note, France is the best manufacturer of wines in the world.
The attentive chef’s served foods to the excited guests.
The tres beau gosse French man behind the cheese station is Louis G. He is Sophie’s boyfriend. No chance girls!
Guests enjoying their nights!
Third from the left is Charlene. She is also a French teacher in Alliance Francaise de Cebu, enjoying the evening with her friends.
Sven Johansen is a Norwegian from Jokai Marine International with his dear friend James, a Canadian-French national.
Leif Malley, an Australian national guest with his gorgeous girl friend.
With Cebu’s elite, from left: Madame Amparito Lhuillier, Oche Pelaez, Alicia Plaza and Victoria Hermosisima.

This is after the food tasting. Guests are lining up to order French bread, cheese, and all other products of La Vie Parisienne.
This is what they have in the stall for all customers:
All types of beer!
These wine bottles caught my eyes. I wonder, if I have these at home, I will ever attempt to open it? It looks too lovely.
I bet you wish you have a fridge like this at home. Well, because I do. LOL!
This is Thomas. A very kind and handsome French guy of the night. He will be here for a very short stay and will fly back to France after the event. Sigh!

My awesome friends enjoying the night. From left is Makz, Richill, Kent and Isko.
I would love to take this home.
This is inside the wine cellar. It houses all varieties of wine. I bet all the wines you know are already here!
And so I had the courage to ask Thomas for a picture! Lucky me!
All smile with my friend Isko.
With my dear friend/roommate Makz (whom I call Bernadette). She also studied French in Alliance Francaise de Cebu with me, but she has already finished Intensive 3 and passed Delf A2 exam with flying colors.
With lovely Sophie, who has been very accommodating throughout the party and shared how she loves Cebu. We love to keep you here belle gosse Sophie!
Ended the night with a wide smile on my face. I met a lot of wonderful people. Foods are delectable and wines are great. No doubt I will be back for more, though this time; I will have to pay for my favorite croissant and Shanpelino. Thank you La Vie Parissiene!
