noun meta·mor·pho·sis \?me-t?-‘mo?r-f?-s?s\
: a major change in the appearance or character of someone or something

I know the insect that undergoes metamorphosis is a butterfly.I would like to compare myself to a butterfly, because just like a butterfly I’ve had a major change in form and structure. I guess a lot of people would agree with me that at least once in their life they were a cocoon that transformed into a beautiful butterfly.

My life is pretty much the same with a cocoon back when I was younger. I was raised by a single mother who can only provide food and shelter. It is not that she cannot provide us what we want but the rest of her money went to savings for our college education. I grew up in a very simple household that we can only buy clothes when it is our birthday or if it is Christmas, so that is basically twice a year. Good thing we have aunts that are very fashionista’s we get hand me downs and they would buy us clothes. When I was young, I was dreaming of wearing the clothes of the people I see on TV and magazine. They look so beautiful it pulls me to a wonderful fantasy. When I was growing up, I knew I was different; I am different from most peoples taste when it comes to fashion and I am different in terms of carrying myself. I was once a t-shirt and jeans kind of girl, but I realized that those garments are not for me. It is not giving me happiness and self satisfaction, so I transformed myself into sophisticated-elegantly dressed lady. That’s when I realized my metamorphosis was completed and I am now a full grown butterfly.
