Montreal Diaries: Summer

I love Montreal for thousands of reasons, I can’t specifically say which comes first because everything just falls on the first category. Before I came here, I thought I’m going to move to Toronto, to a bigger city with more opportunity, but as time passed by, I realized Montreal is where I belong. I fell in love with the simplicity and laid back life. I fell in love with the architecture, street arts, museums, and festivals. I fell in love with the food and most of all the language. I can speak French a little now, though I cannot hold a spontaneous conversation, I can definitely say I am not as bad as before. Winter will always be a problem, but without it, we wouldn’t be able to look forward to the rest of the season.

Last Summer, I decided to make the most out of the beautiful weather; took out my floral dress, went to eat in the restaurant that serves the best poutine and strolled around colorful streets. We don’t have any specific plan where to go, we just stopped by to snap photos if there is anything interesting.

All photos above were taken in the streets of Plateau Mont-Royal. I love this place during Summer because there are street arts in every corner and it is where you will find the best restaurants.

This was in La Banquise, so far they have the best Poutine so I highly recommend this place. Poutine is a mix of French fries, cheese curds and gravy, but now to make your poutine experience memorable, there are other ingredients you can add with it depending on your preference. The one that I ordered have sausages, mushrooms, and bacon. Isn’t it the best way to die of Atherosclerosis? At least you’ll gonna die happy. Lol. Just kidding! Poutine originated in Quebec, so it is a must try for people visiting Quebec.

Cafe Chat L’heureux or the Happy Cat Cafe, is a cafe for all cat lovers. It would be fun to play with them while sipping your coffee or reading a book.

Cat photos above are not mine, I just grabbed it online. Credits to the person who owns the photo.

That’s it for my first Montreal diary. The idea behind this diary is for me to show bits and pieces of Montreal. I will not be using high-resolution photos for this because I just want it to be natural and simple as it is. This is just one of the Sundays I was out and there are some more coming.
