My New Oswego Glasses from the GlassesShop

Last year, I started having issues with my eyes. The first sign was my inability to see from afar. I thought there is something inside my eyes so I kept on rubbing it, but when it did not improve my vision, I knew my eyesight is starting to fail. I had my first glasses in August 2018 and had so many issues with it that the optical shop can’t seem to correct. At first, it was too loose that it keeps falling off my nose and when I went to visit them they adjusted it too tight that I am starting to have deep marks over my nose. Not to mention that the lenses easily gets cloudy and dirty that no cleaning seems to make it clearer. It was a very expensive frame and lenses with ridiculous quality. I was very frustrated because I was still adjusting with my new glasses and I am already having multitudes of issues. I stopped going to that shop and did the adjustements all by myself.

Five months after getting my first glasses, I started having headaches and my eyes always felt tired. I went to see another optometrist and got a new prescription. My lenses were changed and I started to see better. I would have wanted to change my frame to something light because my existing glasses is heavy, but getting a new frame when your new glasses is less than a year old is not a wise idea so I kept the frame and changed lenses.

The GlassesShop reached out to me for collaboration to spread the news about good quality eyeglasses for less to help everyone who is on a budget, especially students like me.

The order process is actually very convenient. You do not have to make multiple trips to the optical shop for this. I will walk you through the steps in getting your own glasses online.

Step 1:
Visit their website

In the homepage, you will see tabs for Eyeglasses and Sunglasses and you can even filter it based on gender.

Step 2:
Choose your frame.

You have different filter options to help you with your frame preferences.

Step 3:
Chose your frame color preference.

On the right tab, you will see just below the price that they are offering the first pair for free! But take note that not all frames are eligible for that offer. If the frame you chose is eligible, you can take advantage of that and this is what you will get:

Just below the frame photos, you will see the details of the glasses which is a factor in choosing the right frame for you. And just beside it are the reviews which will give you an insight of what others think about the glasses.

Step 4:
Check the Size Guide.

Before you order your glasses, you have to know what size fits your face. This is very important because you do not get the chance to fit it before you purchase. Be mindful of the description size as a reference of what you will be getting.

Step 5:
Choose your lens.

Step 6:
Upload or type in your prescription.

It is important for you to type in your PD or Pupil Distance because it is used to determine where you look through the lens of your glasses and should be as accurate as possible.

If your PD is nowhere to be found in your prescription, just like mine, don’t worry because they will give you tips on how to measure it using a measuring tape.

Step 7:
Choose your lens type.

Step 8:
Order summary page.

This is a sample page. There are more additional options on this page such as adding anti-slip holder set for an additional fee of $2.95 and repair kit holder set for $3.95. And you can also add your coupon such as the FIRSTFREE code for first free pair of the frame. Note that it is just the frame that is free, you will still pay for the lens and handling fee. The shipping fee will reflect on the next page.

Step 9:
Proceed to checkout.

Here you will enter the following information:

  1. Shipping address
  2. Mode of Shipping
Standard Shipping ($5.95) 7-20 business days after shipment
    Free with orders over $79.00
Expedited Shipping ($24.95) 3-7 business days after shipment
    Free with orders over $249.00
  3. Payment Method
There are 3 credit card companies you can use to pay; Visa, Mastercard, and Discover. You can also pay using a gift card, points (applicable for existing customers who has accumulated points from previous orders) and PayPal.
Note that all prices are in USD

And at the bottom, you will see the total charges. It’s pretty much straight forward and no BS kind of website, no hidden charges, and surprises upon checkout.

Now that I have already walked you through the order process, let me show you what I got!

I chose the Oswego model because it only weighs 11.2 g or 0.4 oz which is exactly what I was looking for. It fits perfectly on my face and is not bulky. It came inside a plastic glasses case with cleaning cloth. As soon as I put it on, my eyes did not undergo an adjustment phase just like my previous lenses where I have to wait for few hours or days for my eyes to get used to the new lens. The rose gold frame looks fancy and totally trendy. I am not the type of person who will just wear glasses because I needed it, it has to be fashionable enough for me to walk around. It is surprisingly very sturdy for its thinness and light as a feather. Gives me a totally barely-there feel when I have it on.

The case is made of plastic, not as fancy as what’s inside but strong enough to keep it protected.

Would I recommend buying glasses online? Absolutely! My new glasses from the GlassesShop is eight times cheaper than my first glasses but totally sturdy, with clean details and pretty design. This online shop definitely exceeded my expectation of what I am looking for in eyeglasses at a reasonable price.

If you want to give it a try, you can order your first eyeglasses for free by using the code “FIRSTFREE” for your first purchase.
