Skinvestment: Sheet Masks Review
Last May 19th, I was invited by Skinvestiment for an event called Beauty Date X Montreal to try out new natural products mostly from Korea and Taiwan. As a follower of Korean beauty routine, of course I was very excited! Skin care is very important to me because it is my way of taking care of my self. Looking good from the outside radiates positivity in the inside and this is my tried and tested formula for being joyful and happy. I incorporate sheet masking 2 or 3 times per week because in the beauty world, a routine is not complete without face mask. Yes, a good serum and moisturizer will keep your skin moisturized but a sheet mask will keep your skin hydrated. For me, this is the best beauty discovery in the face of the earth!
Today, I am going to review 6 sheet masks recommended by beauty experts, Carmen from Daint and Eden from Miirushop. They gave us tips on what products to use and how to use them. I thought I am already good at it, but I realized there are still a lot of things that I don’t know about proper skin care, so I am really grateful to them for enlightening me.
1. Adaline Keep Cool & Ocean Mask
This Mask is full of serum and it does exactly what it says it’ll do. This is an intensive hydrating “second skin mask” will make your skin more firm, improve the skins elasticity, glow and of course hydrated.
I applied the face mask for about 20 minutes while doing mindful masking that Eden taught us during the event. This is new to me and I like that I can relax and de-stress for 20 minutes. As for the mask, it is very refreshing and hydrating, my skin look renewed. It kind of breath new life into my skin. Then I use the excess serum on my elbows and heels where it get really dry.
2. Adaline Keep Cool & Soothe Mask
This mask helps soothe, calm your sensitive skin while keeping it hydrated and improve the elasticity of the skin. With the thin and transparent material of the mask, it helps your skin breathe allowing you to relax and not feel any discomfort while its on.
I love how adorable and simple the packaging is and I love the sheet mask itself way more. I get this cool, refreshing, and lifting feeling that gives my skin some much-needed love. It is very gentle and soothing with a light pleasant smell.
3. A. by BOM Ultra Serum Leaf Mask
The Ultra Serum Leaf Mask is an hypoallergenic Bemliese sheet mask infused with power of plant energy and concentrated serum essence. This mask is infused with Korean Ginseng Berry Extract to improve skin elasticity, Apricot Kernel Oil to deeply nourish skin, Fig Fruit Extract to soften skin, and Pomegranate Extract to repair and prevent skin cell damage. The highly concentrated plant energy serum essence effectively provides long lasting nourishment for moisture depleted dull skin.
A. by BOM is my favorite Korean sheet mask brand, their products by far are the most superior products I have ever used. The first sheet mask that I tried from this brand is the 3 Step Ultra Moisture Mask and I super love it.
As for the Ultra Serum Leaf Mask, it is soaked in serum so the collateral effects are substantial. After using this, my face glowed and my skin felt very hydrated and soft. It got better the next morning because my skin got smoother and felt even tighter.
4. A. by BOM Ultra Water Leaf Mask
The Ultra Water Leaf Mask is an hypoallergenic Bemliese sheet mask that provides deep hydration with plant energy ampoule. This mask is infused with Japanese White Birch Juice to tighten pores and retain moisture in skin, Hinoki Cypress Water to soothe dehydrated skin, English Lavender Water to detoxify and smooth skin, and Korean Perilla Leaf Extract to deeply hydrate and prevent water loss. The highly concentrated plant energy ampoule effectively provides long lasting hydration for dehydrated and sensitive skin.
This sheet mask is amazing! It is the drink my skin needed and the ingredients are fantastic. My skin looked brighter, dewy, firmer and my pores were less visible after one use. It definitely rejuvenated my skin. I couldn’t believe how much better it looked.
5. b.liv Immerse Me Mask
Immerse me is a salve for face parched and dry, as it soaks your skin in a jiffy, while ensuring skin’s longing hydration will never turn tail. Its charge-carrying essences shoo away the dry spells from within, by alluring to skin cells and burrowing moisture into your deeper skin layer.
This is the first time that I used a sheet mask with Hyaluronic Acid and as soon as I removed the mask my skin had this tingling sensation, but it looked as if it drank a glass of water. Hours later my skin is baby soft to the touch and much more moisturized than before. It is super hydrating and has no sticky feeling.
6. CY LAB Top Luxury Mask
This is the mask we go to when our skin needs a tall glass of moisture! Different sized hyaluronic acid molecules penetrate skin to deliver much needed hydration while natural seaweed extracts lock in the water levels to maintain that glowy bouncy skin all day.
This mask by far gives my skin the most moisture. I put it in the fridge for 10 minutes before I put it on for a cooler feel coz I’ve read that most sheet mask with hyaluronic acid stings a bit. The next day, my skin is super smooth and has a radiating glow to it and feels super moisturized. Using this after a good cleanse and exfoliation made makeup application so easy. I love it! Hyaluronic acid sheet mask is exactly what you need if your skin is looking for an extra boost of hydration.
That ends my review! It’s good to try products that are recommended by experts because you know you’re skin is in good hands. As a sheet mask advocate, I always enjoy trying every Korean masks brand (and now Taiwanese masks). Not only have I been in love using Korean sheet masks, but I’ve also noticed my love for other Korean skin care products and I am excited to review the rest of the products that I got from Skinvestment so stay tuned for that!
