Topbox is a Canadian subscription box and currently the subscription box that I love. So today, I will be giving my honest review of what I think about the products that I received from their August 2018 box. The box arrived on time, but my review is late.

Name of the Box: Topbox

Cost: $12 CAD + tax (free shipping)

What you will get: Each month, subscribers will get four beauty samples. Samples can range from skincare, bodycare, makeup, haircare and fragrance. The samples are from prestige brands. Some of these brands are well known and others are newly launched or small and niche.

Here comes the products!

Beautaniq Beauty Fill + Tame Brow Gel – Clear (Full Size) – $15.79
An innovative light weight water-based formula enriched with Aloe Vera which defines and fills in the look of brows while controlling and shaping without flaking or fading.

I love brow gels because my brow hair is long so applying brow gel can hold it in place. This brown gel can really hold my brow hair in place, however, I don’t think that this is useful for me now since I dyed my hair blonde and the brow gel that I received is clear. My natural brow hair color is black, so the brow gel that I prefer to use is blonde for it to match my blonde colored hair. I love the product and I think this will be a good present for friends.

Pure Cosmetics Silicone Pro Blender – $6
An innovative, washable and reusable alternative that makes wasting cosmetics a thing of the past. The Silicone Pro Blender allows for effective spreading and blending of liquid/cream cosmetics, while using only half the amount of product associated with traditional application with a sponge or brush.

This is the second silicon blender that I received from Topbox. I think silicone blenders are really good since it does not absorb liquid and cream foundation which prevents product waste, however, I don’t use liquid foundation so this is not useful for me. Still a good present for friends.

Joico Beach Shake – $22.60
Beach Shake texturizing finisher creates plush separation, moisture and a satin finish with no drying salts or sticky sugars. This unique hybrid combines coconut oil, sunflower oil, beeswax and flexible resins for a beachy look without the sandy strands.

I have just recently chopped my hair short so right now it is a lot voluminous than before. This product somehow tamed my hair and actually gave me the best looking beach wave and I super love it. The only complaint I have is; it feels heavy and gets a bit sticky at the end of the day. It feels uncomfortable sleeping with it, so I have to wash my hair before going to bed.

AvryBeauty Shea Butter Socks – $1.45
Waterless manicure socks pre-filled with soothing shea butter which is naturally rich in Vitamins A, E and F. The concentration of natural vitamins and fatty acid make it incredibly nourishing and moisturizing. Replaces the need for soaking in water, cuticle softener, cuticle oil and massage cream.

I decided to wear this before bedtime and after I finished all my chores to not be interrupted. I let it stay for 1 full hour for the shea butter and oils to fully absorb. After an hour, my foot felt extra soft and supple. The cuticle soften which made it easier for me to remove. I love it and planning to do it once every month!

Total Product Value: C$45.84

Amount paid for this subscription: C$12.00 + tax

How much I saved: C$33.84

Conclusion: This month is my least favorite month. Though I love the quality of the products that I received, I don’t think they are useful for me, especially the brow gel and the silicone blender. The Beach Shake can be used occasionally since I can’t use it every day because it feels heavy on my hair, but I’m glad that I got it in full size. The item that I liked the most is the Shea Butter Socks. Hoping for better items next month.
