Topbox July 2018 Review
Topbox is a Canadian subscription box and currently the subscription box that I love. So today, I will be giving my honest review of what I think about the products that I received from their July 2018 box.
Name of the Box: Topbox
Cost: $12 CAD + tax (free shipping)
What you will get: Each month, subscribers will get four beauty samples. Samples can range from skincare, bodycare, makeup, haircare and fragrance. The samples are from prestige brands. Some of these brands are well known and others are newly launched or small and niche.
Here comes the products!
SKIN&CO Roma Truffle Therapy Whipped Cleansing Cream 30mL – $7.31
Truffle Therapy Whipped Cleansing Cream is a highly concentrated cleanser formulated to renew dry & dull skin while providing extra care to sensitive skin. Formulated with Pure Truffle Extract and Sweet Almond Oil, it is a gentle cleanser and delivers intense hydration while improving skin resilience and tone. This cleanser is formulated with essential fatty acids to help maintain the skin’s natural moisture barrier.
This Therapy Whipped Cleansing Cream is thick and it doesn’t lather, which made it less exciting, but I love how it gives my skin a much needed TLC because it is very gently and the scent is subtle and sweet. I rinsed it off with water but since the cream is thick, I decided to use a damp cloth. My face felt really soft and supple and extra hydrated afterwards.
Elizabeth Arden Standing Ovation Mascara 2.5mL – $9.70
Achieve bigger, bolder lashes with the high performance, high intensity Standing Ovation Mascara. The innovative, supersized brush and smooth, fiber infused formula work together to amplify, build and curl lashes for a fanned out, ‘false lash’ effect. The smooth formula softens and nourishes lashes, is smudge- and flake-free and clinically proven to increase lash volume by 128%.
This is the second mascara that I got from Elizabeth Arden and I am very pleased. Quality wise, they are over the top. Longer lashes, check. More volume, check. Waterproof, check.
I remembered, I got a serum capsule from them before that really made wonders on my face and I badly want to buy the entire bottle but since it costs a fortune, I ended up buying a different brand instead. So if I see Elizabeth Arden in subscription boxes I am really very happy!
Pretty Woman NYC Nail Polish So Minaj (Full Size) – $8.99
A pink frost shimmer nail polish that is 10-Free, Cruelty-Free, Paraben-Free, Sulfate-Free, Phthalates-Free, Petrochemical-Free, GMO-Free, Triclosan-Free and Vegan.
This is the second time that I received a Pretty Woman NYC nail polish, the first one was on my September 2017 Ipsy box where I got Girl Boss polish. I love this brand because they are ingredients conscious and cruelty free. The quality of the polish is good, it lasts a week without chipping and with 2 coats you get a pretty looking shimmery nails. I don’t mind getting nail polish from subscription boxes as long as it is Pretty Woman NYC!
I used this thermal spring water after doing my peel off mask because that is the time when my skin is really sensitive. I feel the soothing effect of water on my skin, but there is really nothing special about it aside from being a water spray. I am not sure if my opinion will change in the long run, but for now I don’t think this product is very useful to me.
Total Product Value: C$35.80
Amount paid for this subscription: C$12.00 + tax
How much I saved: C$23.80
Conclusion: I love this month curation! I am glad that Topbox is back on the game. The last 2 months were not at all amazing, but they surely bounced back this month. No wonder I just can’t cancel this subscription because when they go all out, they go all out! Now, I’m excited for my August box.
