Universal Studios Singapore Part 1

On our third day in Singapore, we allotted the entire day for Universal Studios. I was really excited about this because this is one of the many reasons why I wanted to visit Singapore. I love amusement parks, when I am in there I forget that I am already on my mid 20’s. I did not really enjoy my childhood because I was a sickly little girl back then, so psychologically I tend to regress so I can get the satisfaction every child experienced during their childhood years. I am just happy that I get to enjoy visiting Themed and Amusement parks because I can somehow fill the gaps I felt not being able to do this years before.

To get to Universal Studio, we travelled by MRT from Chinatown Station to Harbourfront Station. We went to Vivo City so we can take the sky train to Sentosa. The sky train is called Sentosa Express. Your tourist pass MRT card cannot be used there, so you will need to buy a ticket for Sentosa Express and that costs $4 valid for 1 day. You can use it to ride the sky train anywhere in Sentosa.

Due to too much excitement we arrived in Sentosa at 9 AM when Universal Studio will not open until 10 AM. Because of that we had the time to take photos outside particularly this very popular USS globe ball.

The Universal Studios Store where you can buy Universal Studio-themed collectibles and toys. As soon as Universal Studios opened, people are already lining up to do some shopping.

Agnes is my favorite character in Despicable Me. I was eyeing for this one when we entered the Minion Mart coz I really wanna buy one, but I was shocked with the price. That was a whooping $23 for a toy as small as my palm.

It was Saturday when we visited Universal Studios so this crowd is no longer surprising.

It’s the Sesame Street Show- When I Grow Up. To bad we were not able to watch because we went first to ride the Spaghetti Space Chase.

This will be a haven for Sesame Street fan because they have Sesame Street toys and collectible here.

Of course Marilyn has great legs! Lol.

New York

Sesame Street Spaghetti Space Chase is our first ride. It was really fun even though it is a ride for kids, because you get to see all your Sesame Street favorite character.

I would also highly recommend for you to watch the Light, Camera, Action Hosted by Steven Spielberg wherein you will see an empty sound stage becomes the setting of a major hurricane about to hit New York City. It looks real and convincing.

You can also watch The Rockfellas performance on the streets of New York.

Sci-Fi City

It is action-packed here in Sci-Fi City. We lined up for our second ride and also one of the best ride, Transformer: The Ultimate 3D Battle. We waited in the queue for an hour and a half so we can ride Transformer and I swear I was really tired standing and waiting for my turn. Though the ride was 5-minute short, it was still worth the wait.

The Accelerator ride will test your intergalactic stamina on whirling and twirling ride. It’s a really boring ride but at least you can chill for a while in preparation to an extreme Battlestar Galactica ride.

And finally the beast! Battlestar Galactica: Human (red track) and Battlestar Galactica: Cyclon (blue track). Expect another hour and a half in the queue for each of these ride. Battlestar Galactica: Human is a seated roller coater ride that twists, turns and propels you over 14 storeys into the air. While Battlestar Galactica: Cyclon is a suspended roller coaster that goes up, around and upside down. We were able to ride Battlestar Galactica: Human and by far the most intense ride I have ever tried. However, we were not able to ride Battlestar Galactica: Cyclon because my boyfriend got scared. He has fear of height and these rides are too extreme for him. I did not go because I don’t want to go alone.

That’s it for now! I will post my Universal Studios tour part 2 on July 11th. Not tomorrow because it’s my birthday. *wink
